Things i do & think about at 5:16am

Sooooooo glad that Eve made it over to my place. Until confinement, one will never understand the beauty of a shower. Unless you've been in the jungle or OBS lah... but that's a different story. It's amazing how newborns have survived even though Chinese mothers are not allowed to make themselves clean. And to adjust to a new life while having to observe confinement traditions is really SURVIVOR series. They should make one of those series on pure confinement, no corner cuttings watsover. See the real b***hing take place. They should get irregular doses and extractions of hormones, just like the real thing, and see their b***hing take on new levels.

Anyway, Abby's schedule went off after the last entry. Woke up at 4.30pm and then at 6.30pm. So much for wanting to stretch to 3hr min. Then fed her while Eve showered, and she MERLIONED. She did so once the day before also. When a new mother has never seen her baby throw up that much, it can get frantic. But this is the 3rd time I've seen - all during bfdg - and it's still kinda scary. Only to worry if it's projectile vomiting. Otherwise, it's supposedly okie. *scary*

She stopped feedg then started again at 8.15pm for about 1/2hr. Then she was put to bed. I was trying to figure out whether I should wake her up in 2 1/2hrs' time. That's 10.45. Then I decided to let her wake by herself. Mistake. She slept from about 9plus all the way to 4.30 this morning. I woke up at 3.50 to pump coz I had a double-rocky chest and was hoping she'll sleep thru tonite also. But she woke up.

But come to think of it - the nite before, she slept around 11plus and was woken up at 8am. That's about 9 hrs. Then now from 10 to 4 - that's 6 hrs. Well, although I'd experience 1 nite of all nite sleep thru, still her usual is 5 1/2hrs before next feed. But from last feed at 8.30pm and then again at 4.30pm, (feeds are calculated from the start of one to the start of next), that's about 8hrs. Pretty good still!

Well, today's proposed schedule:
8am (FWS), 11am (FWS), 2pm (FWS), 5pm (FWS), 8pm (FWS) (let's hope she can last till 8pm coz dinner is usually at 7.30pm and late afternoon supply is usual pretty low) and then 11pm (FS). That's 6 feeds at 3hr intervals. And then pray really hard that she sleeps thru. FWS stands for Feed/Wake/Sleep and F/W lasts for an hour while FS for Feed/Sleep. Apparently if the day is done properly, bb will be able to sleep thru the nite. *fingers crossed*

I'm not sure if lying in bed is considered sleeping, coz when we put her down in her crib to sleep, she looks around and then falls asleep only about after 20mins of winding down.
