It's been three good years. In fact, three solid years. We both thank God for them. I was very touched the day before yesterday when Ben told me he hadn't bought anything but was not going to work instead on our 3rd year anniversary. That to me was an excellent gift. :) Nevertheless, when we have time together, we'll run errands. In fact, we're always running errands.
Anyway, we took Shalom to the PD @ United Sq. Dr said that the vomiting, as long as not projectile, is nothing to worry about. The reflux is most likely due to muscles not fully developed (the sphincter) so it will come up. He recommended holding Shalom upright. However, I explained that when Shalom's upright, he spits up more. Dr was abit surprised and said Shalom's one of the rare babies that spits up more when upright, so lay him down instead. Hmm... actually he spits up less when lying down. I asked whether it's because of the pressure on the stomach when he's upright, and dr said yes. Well, Shalom doesn't really like to be cradled when awake; neither does he like to lie down much. So there's a lot of spit to deal with. Also, he started crying abit at the doctor's during consultation, so I carried him upright and he spat up partially digested milk. Doctor saw the sample. Heh. He also suggested thickening the milk with cereal, ie. adding cereal to ebm. I'm not keen on starting cereal so early. He's already 7.6kg at 3.5months, will cereal cause him to put on more weight? My arms get rather tired from carrying him. :P Well, other recommendations include feeding lesser but at higher frequency - only if he allows. Sometimes if he doesn't get his full 4oz, he yells like mad!! Anyway, just have to monitor weight gain - half kg per month from now onwards, and for wet diapers.
After the visit, we had Pizza Hut for lunch. :S Ben's spaghetti looked pre-chewed and my pizza had a lot of dough. Their latte was better than the typical Pizza Hut standard. We wanted to go Bakerzin, but silently didn't want to spend too much money on food - PDs are expensive, remember?
Later, we finally agreed on a pair of shoes for Abby but had to go to Colettee's Great World City branch to collect. Ben wanted to get me hair accessories, but we could feel the snobbish saleswomen's vibes, so I didn't want to get any. In the end, I went on a mini shopping spree at Montip and got a few for myself. :D
We wanted to eat (again) at Cinnabun Tree, but had no seats, so we left... while wrecking our brains for good dessert. In the end, we bought Four Season's Hotel Hazelnut Royaltine which is to die for. :) We finished one by ourselves two years ago for Ben's birthday; now we got ourselves another one in celebration of our 3 years. :D
Ended up having dinner at Fish and Co. Had oysters (mmm...) and Fish and Chips - both the typical and the New York. Very enjoyable - knowing that we're both comfortable and not at some stiff-necked place where wrong placement of fork would send you straight to Jail - Do not pass go, do not collect $200.
We're just plain simple folk who enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Yesterday was good. Spent time with Shalom and then with Abby. :) Best of all, we managed to spend time with each other and totally enjoyed each other's company with great dessert and excellent company.
