Happy Lunar New Year

Xin Nian Meng En! :) Been trying to tell myself (and Ben also) to take loads of pictures because we've neglected the camera for a long time. Poor second kid. First kid gets loads of pictures while second kid grows up too quickly. He's started cruising and climbing everywhere. He's quite a gung-ho fella. Gets knocked over by sis and gets up and continues playing. Unless he can manja. Anyway, the only person who's been crazy over the camera is Abby. She's been taking so many pictures (of herself) that it's really hilarious. She also takes unflattering shots of people's backsides, her mothers buldging tummy as well as her dad's not-so-buldging one.

Workwise, it's actually Week 8. I took Friday off last week coz Shalom didn't seem to get any better. However, after the visit to the doc that day, he recovered very quickly! He's been ill for almost a week since the previous Saturday, and usually if it doesn't get better, it'll become worse. Thank God it went away.

He's been talking a lot! He seems to be mimicking whatever we say, and picks stuff up very fast! We caught the fireworks tonight and we thought we heard him say 'firework'! Other words include 'there', 'updare' for upstairs to look for grandfather, 'dangtern' for lantern, 'Thee-thush' for Jesus (I think he can recognise the flashcard also; suspecting short-tongue but Ben says he's just starting to speak so may not have mastered full control of tongue for 'S' consonant which I agree), 'thare' for chair, and I can't remember the other not-so-easily decipherable words he's said. Most evidently, he repeats the no. of syllable that has just been spoken, like 'Da Pi Gu' (his sister's current fav).

His dad likes this shot. I think it has the 'I better hope he knows what he's doing coz I'm not really qualified to drive' look on his face! :)

Anyway, as for my darling angel, she's been enjoying herself in school. She's been able to recognise a few words, and that has motivated me to jumpstart (again) the flashcards. Because of them, she's able to recognise several words. I tried the conventional method - spell and read, and she hasn't been doing as well. Problem now is the logistics. I'm supposed to flash 5 sets of 5 words 3 times a day, and from the fifth day onwards start changing one word a day. How to keep track like that? I've been stuck with the same 25 words for the past 3 months coz I can't get past the 3 times a day for 5 days routine - and keep track for TWO KIDS. I think they are BORED with the words. But she likes to recite them after I've flashed them.

(I've been trying to upload the photos from the CD that Ben just passed me, but it hasn't been very fruitful. Hopefully I can post pictures of Abby up as well.) Really tired. Just thinking of the workload is making me wanna get down to plan well and execute it even better. I can plan, but execution takes a whole lot more effort. Gotta improve in that area! A lunar new year resolution eh? :)
